volunteers.jpg

Creating a co-op takes energy, commitment and creativity. From our elected Board of Directors to dozens and dozens of like-minded supporters, Chicago Market's volunteers are working hard to make our vision and our store a reality.

We've got volunteer needs from ongoing teams to ad-hoc events; in-person or at-home projects; strategy work or just hittin' the streets. Take a look and sign up here - or let us know if you'd like to get involved but you're not sure where to start.

Chicago Market depends on volunteer efforts from many dedicated supporters and owners. The Volunteer Coordinator leads a team of volunteers responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, and assigning volunteers to ongoing and single teams, projects and tasks. The Volunteer Coordinator works with a member of the Chicago Market Board as a liaison.
The ideal person for this position will be an enthusiastic Chicago Market supporter who likes interacting with people, can recruit others to volunteer, and enjoys listening to and getting to know people so they can be matched to work that needs to be done and is interesting to them. Training in the Volunteer Coordination processes will be provided. If this sounds like your kind of thing and you are new to team leadership roles, the Board liaison will provide mentoring and support in how to lead a team.
