  • April Info Session

    Info_session_graphic.jpg

You've seen some Chicago Market posters. You've heard your friends talking about this local, sustainable food co-op. Maybe you visited us at one of our Pop-Ups.

But what exactly is Chicago Market?

Come to one of our upcoming information sessions to find out.

Owners and Board members will be on hand to answer your questions and tell you more about the Market. And we'll be prepared to sign up new Owners who are ready to buy a stake in this cooperative grocery store.

  • April Owners' Meetup

    12219349_993643220681846_1382297449383167790_n.jpg

We're kicking off our new monthly Owners' Meetups in April at Crew Bar + Grill.  Join us on April 4 at 7:00 for a special 20% discount on food and drink for Chicago Market Owners - plus, it's Dollar Taco Night!

One of the things we value most at Chicago Market is community building- with folks in our neighborhoods, with business partners, but especially among Owners.

A note from Emily, Owner #575:

"After a recent monthly meeting, some members of our community got together at a nearby watering hole to hang out over a few drinks. I suggested we put off talking shop, just for that hour or two, and focus on getting to know each other. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed getting to know my fellow volunteers on a personal basis, even those I've known for over two years now. I learned so much about their individual strengths and interests, not only in how that contributes to their contributions to Chicago Market, but in the many, many other awesome things they're accomplishing. I look forward to sharing that camaraderie with many more folks in our community."

From now on, on the first Tuesday of every month, we'll be having an informal meetup for Chicago Market Owners at a local establishment. Drop in for a drink or a snack, connect with other Owners, and find out what's going on with Chicago Market and our fellow community members and organizations. Want to help grow Chicago Market? Bring a friend!

We look forward to this new opportunity to connect and build camaraderie. See you there!

  • Book Club - American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food (and What We Can Do About It)

Based on the poll on our owners' Facebook page, the next book we'll be reading & exploring is American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food (and What We Can Do About It).

As always, all are welcome to attend! Feel free to bring along a friend who maybe isn't an owner yet, but is curious in learning more about our Chicago Market community. If you aren't able to finish reading the book before we meet, you're still invited to join in our discussion. For those interested, Café Chien will have their delicious pastries and coffee drinks made with Metropolis coffee beans available for purchase.
