Chicago Market is bursting with excitement to tell you some big news:

We've hired a wonderful person to help secure the funding necessary to turn your dream grocery store into a reality. And, best of all, it's a name you likely recognize:

Greg Berlowitz.

Greg's our founder, the guy who came up with the idea for a North Side food cooperative, the guy whose passion inspired most all of us who are involved with Chicago Market. 

But Chicago Market requires more than just passion. It requires dollars. And, as an all-volunteer Board, we decided we needed to hire an expert to hunt down that money.

Greg will research funding, apply for grants, talk with banks and much more.  He will support the Site Selection team in meeting with potential supporters and local officials (they already had one very successful meeting with an alderman!)

We know of no one else with the same passion for Chicago Market and knowledge of potential sources of co-op funding. 

In his new role, Greg will step down from the Chicago Market Board of Directors but will remain in close communication with Board members.
