Chameleon Blind Window Project

The Chicago Market community has always been supportive of the arts. Our Musician's Showcase last year was sold out and now we have a very exciting art exhibit to be proud of, showcased in the windows of our future home right now!

"Artist Mara Baker’s Chameleon Blind Window Project connects vacant storefronts with the streetscape outside. By filling the empty windows with the colors and patterns of the city, Baker integrates the empty space back into public life. Her installation in the Chicago Market space is a collaboration between Chicago Market and Business Partners, The Chamber for Uptown, supported by a Public Art Grant. The installation is on display in the windows of the Chicago Market building and will be lit up each evening."

Read more in our interview with Mara here. And mark your calendar for February 8, from 4-7pm for your chance to walk the exhibit with the artist herself while enjoying hot cider from our business Owner friends at Earth First Farms at Chameleon Blind: Uptown Public Art Opening (RSVP).
