I became an owner for many reasons.  I like the idea of supporting the business model of a community of people coming together to own something together, and to encourage this concept in other communities as well. Despite our electronic connectivity, we (the larger "we") are disconnected from our food sources, from the people who provide our food, from the land and environment and the toll food production takes on it. While I may have complained as a kid about having to help tend our large family garden, I sure do miss it now living in the city. I'm excited about the options Chicago Market will provide, the example it can be to others, and the opportunity to raise awareness and connectivity to other issues.
