Chicago Market loves posting profiles about our Owners. So whether you're one of the Co-op's early adopters -- or just recently jumped onboard like Kim Renner -- tell us all about you! Fill out our Owner survey and tell us what's important to you!
Now, let's get to know what Kim is all about...
Tell us your full name – as well as who else shares your fridge.
I share my fridge with my loving husband, Agustin, our spoiled dog T.J. and occasionally with our 27-year-old daughter, Niesha.
What motivated you to become an Owner of Chicago Market?
I became an Owner of Chicago Market because I love Uptown and I love great food!
What type of work do you do?
I am an 8-year Veteran of the U.S. Army, and I have been a U.S. Postal Mail Carrier since 1995.
What else is really important to you…and why?
What's really important to me is spending time with my family -- and being nice to everyone I come in contact with!
Is there something new you’d like to learn or pursue…either now or someday?
I would like to retire soon and pursue organic gardening in a big way.
Do you have a favorite food or “signature dish”?
I love anything that is cooked, grilled or smoked outdoors. "Low 'n Slow" is the way to go! (That's BBQ language for "delicious"!)
What’s your ‘one wish come true” for Chicago Market? It might be a product for our shelves, a program you’d like to see us offer, a location – you name it!
My wish is that Chicago Market can help me learn how to grow organic vegetables and flowers. The upside for the Co-op is that I'll donate what I grow to Chicago Market! "Sowed, Grown and Sold in Uptown" will be my motto. You just can't get any more "local" than that!
What three words best describe you?
Dedicated. Caring. Funny. (And from the photo she supplied, it's safe to say Kim's a Cub's fan!)
