Rosemary Metzger Wants a Grocery Store Where She Has a Voice

Rosemary Metzger, Owner #1495, has a vision for ways her grocery Co-op can help her. Read how.

Tell us your full name – as well as who else shares your fridge (i.e., is a part of your household).

Rosemary K. Metzger

What motivated you to become an Owner of Chicago Market?

I want a grocery store where I have a voice so products I like don’t disappear. I feel like I no sooner get tied to some products that they go away. For example, some of my favorite products from Whole Foods went away after they were acquired by Amazon.

What type of work do you do?

Project manager/Operations manager

What else is really important to you…and why?

Sailboat racing – very calming and entertaining at the same time.

Is there something new you’d like to learn or pursue…either now or someday?

I need to learn how to create a meal plan so I eat food that is healthy for me, as I have a number of dietary preferences/restrictions.

What’s your “one wish come true” for Chicago Market? It might be a product for our shelves, a program you’d like to see us offer, a location – you name it!

Meal planning! I’d like help with creating a monthly meal plan and associated grocery list.

What three words best describe you?

Persistent. Loyal. Extroverted-introvert.
