Craft for Humanity: Crochet a Plastic Sleeping Mat for the Homeless

Join Liat Shanan and Chicago Market and learn how to turn plastic bags into "plarn" (plastic yarn) to help those in need.

A simple crochet hook turns balls of plarn into a weather-resistant sleeping mat for people who are living on the streets. This is a creative way to recycle plastic grocery bags and keep them away from the landfills - Creativity with a mission! While the creative process may feel good to us, it can also offer security and comfort for the street sleepers.

No crocheting experience required. All are welcome.
