Care for Community - Neighbors Helping Neighbors

How is this business you own different? It follows the seven Cooperative Principles and during this holiday season, Principle #7, Care for the Community is more important than ever.

You can join us in caring for the community by joining our Neighbors Helping Neighbors initiative. Make a donation that we'll share with our friends at Lakeview Pantry and Ravenswood Community Services. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Lakeview Pantry for letting us use their board room for our meetings...back when in-person meetings were a thing! And former Chicago Board member Kelly Hewitt holds down the kitchen duties over at Ravenswood Community Services on a regular basis. We're so thankful for the work both organizations do in our community and we know you are too. We've raised over $1500 so far - let's break $2000 together!

Holiday Offerings - On Sale Now!

Holiday Boxes and individual items are on sale now - but they're going fast! With December upon us, there are so many reasons to shop and Chicago Market has made it easy with these curated offerings and individual treats. Whether you need a stocking stuffer or secret Santa goody, some Chanukah gifts or just want to give yourself a little treat to ring in the New Year and bid adieu to 2020 - our farmers have an option for you!

Orders close December 10 and pickup is December 12 at Chicago Market from 11am to 3pm. You can also join our Neighbors Helping Neighbors initiative and drop off donations to Lakeview Pantry and Ravenswood Community Services during this time.

Volunteer Shout Out

Hi everyone! Chicago Market would like to send a big THANK YOU out to all the volunteers who have contributed to our efforts in 2020. It's been an unusual year and we've seen some amazing and unique efforts put in by our volunteers throughout the year, helping to move this project forward.

As a 100% volunteer organization, we could not have done any of this without you.

We are looking excitedly towards next year as we develop our store, offer new and exciting events, and continue to support farmers and producers through a variety of sales offerings - and our amazing volunteers will help in all these efforts!

Keep an eye out for some new and evolving content on the Volunteer page of our website after the New Year! And of course, if you're interested in volunteering, please email us.

A safe, happy and healthy New Year to you all.

How Can You Support Your Co-op Now?

While the Board continues to work with the CTA and our consultants on the operational side of things, Owners can help with the Funding and Organizational side by Leveling Up your Ownership to the Cultivating level;
donating or pledging a loan; volunteering; and by sharing your enthusiasm for your Co-op with your friends and on social media.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
