Making Cornbread with Andy Hazzard

We're excited to be partnered with Hazzard Free Farm and today we highlight Andy’s Hazzard Free Grain cornbread mix. 

As a child, Andy would head to the corn crib with her grandfather Earl to choose the ears of corn to shell and hand grind for her grandmother Marguerite to make fresh corn cakes in her little iron skillet. The recipe on the back of the cornbread is adapted from her recipe and Marguerite’s skillet is still in her kitchen today. This recipe and the corn it’s made with are close to her heart.
