Book discussion with the authors, coffee, pastry and camaraderie with fellow Chicago Market members and friends - food for the body and the soul!
The second book selected for our book club is Chicago: A Food Biography. And BOTH of the authors, Daniel Block and Howard Rosing, will be joining our discussion.
I’m (Maria) personally really excited about this, because this event was brought together entirely with the support of our Chicago Market community. The book was suggested by Hillary, Stephanie is friends with one of the authors and helped facilitate inviting him to our discussion, and Emily reminded me that Maxine has a space available for our meeting at Café Chien!
If you’re unable to finish the book before our meeting, please still join us! This is a fun opportunity to get to know our Chicago Market community.
In order to give us all (but especially Danny, Howard, and Café Chien) an idea of how many folks to expect, please update your RSVP to reflect whether you’ll be able to make it or not.
Everyone is welcome to attend whether they buy food or drink or not but Café Chien will have their delicious pastries and coffee drinks made with Metropolis coffee beans available for purchase. The authors will also have a few copies of the book available for those who would like to buy one the day of this event.
