Join Chicago Market and Chicago Fair Trade for a tour of our future grocery store and a discussion of how fair trade fits into our project.

We'll be joined by Katherine Bissell Cordova, Executive Director of Chicago Fair Trade and our GM, Dan Arnett, who is also President of Fairtrade America. They will speak briefly about the principles of fair trade and about how fair trade fits into Chicago Market's product mix. 

Come learn how Chicago Market can buy wine, chocolate, coffee, tea, olive oils and more from the Global South in ways that provide fair wages, safe working conditions, and environmental sustainability.

Our Owner Candid Wines will be sampling wines from La Riojana, a cooperatively owned, Fairtrade-certified winery in Argentina and we'll have chocolate samples from Divine Chocolate, a co-op of cocoa farmers in Ghana, and Fairtrade coffee from Metropolis Coffee Company.

NEW ADDITION: We'll also welcome Frontier Co-op to the party! Frontier is a cooperative in Norway, Iowa sourcing organic, fair trade, cooperatively grown herbs and spices. 

NEW ADDITION: Our friends at Equal Exchange are sending out fair trade chocolate and nut samples too. Equal Exchange builds long-term trade partnerships that are economically just and environmentally sound, to foster mutually beneficial relationships between farmers and consumers.
